Expert MTD ITSA Services for
Sole Traders & Landlords

We manage your quarterly MTD submissions, keep you fully compliant with HMRC, and take the admin completely off your plate — from as little as £25 per month.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self Assessment (MTD ITSA) is the biggest change to how sole traders and landlords report their income to HMRC in a generation. Instead of a single annual Self Assessment return, MTD ITSA requires you to keep digital records and send quarterly updates to HMRC using compatible software.

For those affected, this isn't optional — and the penalties for non-compliance can be significant. At Evolve, we have packages designed to suit every level of involvement, from a simple digital bridge for spreadsheet users through to a fully done-for-you bookkeeping and MTD service.

What does MTD ITSA actually require?

Under MTD ITSA, you must keep digital records of all your self-employment and rental income and expenses throughout the year. Every quarter, you send a summary of those records directly to HMRC using HMRC-compatible software. At the end of the tax year, you complete a final declaration confirming your total income.

The good news is that your payment deadlines don't change — Income Tax remains due by 31 January following the end of the tax year. What changes is how you track and report your income throughout the year. Our packages handle all of this for you, from choosing the right software to filing every quarterly update and your end-of-year declaration.
